You began your adventure as a graduate of the Famous Adventurer's Correspondence School for Heroes. You came across a poster in your local Adventurer's Guild saying that a Hero was needed in the Barony of Spielburg. Since experience was not necessary, as you read, you thought that this was your big chance to prove yourself!

You barely made it in Spielburg, just before the mountain passes were cut off by snow. At first you learned that they needed you to drive away a few brigands from the valley but as you came up with more information you found out that the brigands were tougher than you originally thought since they were led by a most brilliant strategist.

The Baron of Spielburg lost his daughter and son after being cursed by a vile ogress called Baba Yaga, who seemed to be the biggest problem and the center of all evil in the entire valley.

Moving around the valley wasn't either. There were vicious monsters everywhere and you had to fight hard to stay alive.

After further investigation, you discovered that there was a prophecy to be fulfilled, that would end Baba Yaga's curse:

Comes A Hero from the East
Free the man from in the beast
Bring the child from out the band
Drive the curser from the land

Studying this prophecy made you win your confidence back and to keep trying. You did come from the east after all!
